I am deeply honored to have been selected by Maison Hennessy to inaugurate their Zodiac Collection with the 'Horse Edition.' As an artist, this collaboration was far more than a design project; it was a profound exploration of how contemporary visual language can resonate with a heritage that spans centuries.
At the heart of this collaboration is my artwork, Time Flies (白驹过隙). In this mural, I sought to capture the visceral energy of a horse in full gallop—not merely as a physical movement, but as a living metaphor for the passage of time. My creative process focused on the poetic duality between evanescence and eternity: the fleeting silhouette of a galloping horse representing the 'now,' contrasted with the enduring legacy of the Maison.
I saw a natural parallel between the dynamic rhythm of my brushwork and the silent, patient maturation of the eaux-de-vie. Just as the horse embodies perpetual motion, the craft of Hennessy is anchored in time, requiring generations of passion to reach excellence. By integrating my signature graphic style with these heritage codes, I wanted to create a dialogue where art and craftsmanship become one.
This edition, limited to only 50 pieces worldwide, was conceived as a highly crafted collector’s object. It is my hope that through this work, the viewer can feel the pulse of history and the relentless forward momentum of art, captured in a single, timeless moment.
