In December 2025, I was invited to participate in the launch of Hennessy's 骏马典藏 (Stallion Heritage Collection) — a special edition release celebrated with an exclusive event held at the 观复博物馆 (Guanfu Museum) in Beijing, one of China's most celebrated private museums, founded by the renowned collector and cultural commentator Ma Weidu.
The pairing of Hennessy — with its centuries of craft and its long history of commissioning artists to interpret its legacy — with the Guanfu Museum felt deeply intentional. 观复博物馆 is a place devoted to the meticulous study and preservation of classical Chinese objects: porcelain, furniture, lacquerware, clocks. It is a space that understands how objects carry time, how the crafted thing outlasts the hand that made it.
The 骏马典藏 (literally "Majestic Horse Heritage") draws on the horse as a motif deeply embedded in Chinese aesthetic and cultural history — a symbol of strength, freedom, and nobility. My contribution to this project was to bring these layered associations into visual form, finding the point where a French cognac tradition and a Chinese artistic inheritance could meet with mutual respect.
The evening at 观复博物馆 was a fitting setting: surrounded by objects that have survived dynasties, the launch felt less like a product event and more like a conversation across centuries.
